Student research

Completing undergraduate research can be one of the most important and rewarding parts of your college experience.

  • Challenge yourself.
  • Clarify your interest in the field of study, career interests, and post-graduation plans.
  • Make original contributions to knowledge.
  • Strengthen your written and oral communication, critical thinking, and analytical and other technical skills.
  • Prepare for graduate school because it helps build your confidence in your abilities within the discipline.

We encourage you to reach out to our faculty about assisting with their research or creative activity or helping you develop your own project. You can also conduct original research as part of your senior thesis project to Graduate with Distinction from the College of Arts and Sciences.
